International content delivery network provider CDNetworks has launched an Edge Computing Platform Service (ECP) that will let customers easily deploy and scale-up their microservice container-based applications with secure, ultra-low latency, high-bandwidth computing. The CDNetworks ECP is a container orchestration system built on Kubernetes and Docker for developers to write container-based applications once and deploy them everywhere. Features include app auto deployment, security, open APIs, public IP Addresses for customer pods, a customer portal and IPv6 support, among others. Kubernetes features an automated application deployment, self-healing, automatic rolling updates and Horizontal Pod Autoscaling (HPA).
