CDNetworks Brings Speed and Connectivity to Remote Russia
By Susan J. CampbellRussia is a large country covering a good portion of Asia. When it comes to providing the company with cloud content acceleration across this great expanse, there was only one solution that could handle the situation. Recently, Dulton Media picked CDNetworks partner, MegaFon, to bring 13 POPs to Russia.
According to this release, the project is expected to bring performance to rural areas that were once only available in urban sectors. It’s no wonder that CDNetworks got in on the deal – they’ve secured business in China. The company has actual infrastructure in the country known for its exclusivity.
Dulton Media, which is based in Moscow and deals primarily in cloud content services, is teaming with CDNetworks and MegaFon to bring service level agreements (SLAs) to Russians, from those on remote farms and to those in the bustling city epicenters.
Users of Dulton are readily familiar with the company’s ability to bring eCommerce and video to up to 63 million Russians in all parts of the land. The recent joint project will expand those services even farther. MegaFon already has a brilliantly placed infrastructure across Russia, which will be a big boost in expanding coverage for Dulton.
MegaFon is known for its Web delivery as well as applications that have no equal where performance is concerned. Despite MegaFon being as young as it is (established in 2002), the company has found itself in all aspects of Russia’s telecommunication market. For a company that is not tied to the government, it has extended the longest line of network capabilities in the country.
CDNetwork’s work with MegaFon enables the provider to increase sales opportunities as well as support throughout Russia. CDNetworks has operated a global cloud of servers for more than a decade. The company has more than 1,200 clients and has a hand in nearly 100 percent of the wired world, which means it has the ability to reach out to any place in the world in a matter of seconds. The company has reached into a variety of industries, from tourism to retail to healthcare. CDNetwork’s cloud DNS is helping to connect users to the Internet throughout the world.
There has been a lot of talk about the global economy, and it’s a fact that without technology reaching into the rural areas, the “global economy” is only referring to the urban areas of the globe, representing just a fraction of the world population. Multinational content delivery, such as that provided by CDNetworks, is the expectations of those dwelling in the city are now the expectations of those on the rural roads.
The capabilities delivered by CDNetworks are measurable. Jeff Kim COO, CDNetworks recently shared with TMC (News – Alert), “CDNetworks is a global content delivery network. We work with our customers so their websites and their Web applications go blazing fast.” That kind of speed in rural areas is unheard of – until now.
Kim joined Erik Linask (News – Alert) on the TMC Roadshow from San Jose. To catch their entire conversation, check out this video in full.
